The Punjab & Sind Bank invites applications for the post of Probationary Officers (POs)from Indian citizens who have taken the Common Written Examination (CWE) for Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees conducted by IBPS in 2011 and have a valid score card issued by IBPS and who meet the eligibility criteria.

The online registartion begins on April 24, 2012 and closes on May 10, 2012. The payment towards application fee through CBS/NEFT can be made between April 24, 2012 and May 10, 2012. Candidates are required to apply online through website

Only candidates willing to serve anywhere in India should apply. Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two years from the date of joining the Bank.

At present, the initial monthly emoluments of Junior Management Grade Scale –I Officer allowances may vary depending upon the place of posting. In addition Lease facility (in lieu of HRA) for Officers, Conveyance, Medical Aid, LFC & retirement benefits are admissible as per the rules of the Bank.

Selection for the post of PO will be made on the basis of performance in CWE conducted by IBPS in September 2011/ Supplementary written examination on November 2011 and Interview.

The selected candidates shall be required to execute a service bond of Rs 50,000 undertaking to serve the Bank for a period of 3 years from the date of joining the Bank. They will also have to furnish one surety acceptable to the Bank in the specified proforma before joining the Bank on his/her selection for rendering service for a minimum period of 3 years from the date of joining the Bank. In the event of their resignation from the post before the end of the specified period, they will have to pay the Bond amount of Rs 50,000 to the Bank.

Depending upon the number of vacancies, the Bank reserves the right to call only those candidates who have sufficiently high valid IBPS score in the stipulated CWE and who fulfils the Bank’s eligibility criteria, for Interview.

The total marks for Interview will be 100. Candidates have to obtain minimum 40% marks (35% for SC/ST/ OBC) to qualify in the Interview. The final merit list for selection will be prepared by clubbing the marks of written test as per IBPS score card & interview. The weightage for written test score and interview marks will be 85% & 15% respectively.
