The Delhi University (DU) had announced its first cut-off list on June 25. It was a huge relief for students as they were spared from the horror of the 100% cut-off as last year's. Overall, the first cutoff this year continued its steep climb rising by 0.5 to 2 per cent over the last year's figures.

Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), having sparked much debate last year by fixing the cutoff for BCom (H) at 100 per cent, kept its cutoff at 98.5 per cent this year. A leading institute of Commerce and Economics in India, it offers only two graduate programs in Commerce and Economics streams. Securing admission in this college is, indeed, the dream of every aspirant.

The cut-offs for the OBC category also crossed the 90% mark and is in the range of 93% to 95% this year. Besides, students seeking admission to the BA(H) Economics program of this college need to have secured between 96.5% to 97.75%.

Seeing the last year's 100% cutoff, even Kapil Sibal had to intervene and ask the vice chancellor to look into the issue.
